After 20 years, Morocco finally made it to the FIFA World Cup semi-finals

Today We Know After 20 years, Morocco finally made it to the FIFA World Cup semi-finals. The Islamic country of Morocco made history when it advanced to the semifinals of the FIFA World Cup for the first time in 20 years, making it the first Muslim nation to do so.

According to the available evidence, Portugal’s journey in the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which is now being hosted in Qatar, came to an end with a defeat at the hands of Morocco in the third-place quarterfinal. Portugal was considered to be one of the favourites going into the tournament; nevertheless, they were knocked out by Morocco in the quarterfinals.

Morocco advanced to the semifinals with a 1-0 victory against Portugal in the quarterfinals. Morocco jumped out to an early lead against Portugal and was able to maintain that advantage throughout the whole second half. After the second half had concluded, there was a period of play lasting a further eight minutes, but the team that was captained by the illustrious Cristiano Ronaldo was unable to score at that time.

In the build up to the game, there were rumours that Cristiano Ronaldo would not even participate in the quarterfinals against Morocco. However, when the team found itself in a difficult situation, Ronaldo was thrown into the game to help the team.

And even Cristiano Ronaldo was unable to save his team from suffering a defeat. At the end of the game, there were some heated scenes on the field, with the Moroccan players celebrating by prostrating themselves, while many Moroccan fans in the stadium were unable to control their delight. As a side note, Morocco has also created history by being the first Arab and African country to get to the semifinals of the Football World Cup.

This accomplishment puts Morocco in exclusive company.
Even though this is the first time since the World Cup in 2002 that an Islamic country has made it to the semi-finals, congratulations to them! During the FIFA World Cup in 2002, Turkey competed and advanced all the way to the semifinals. The victory against Portugal puts Morocco in a semi-final match against the winner of the encounter between France and England. The other semi-final will be between Argentina and Croatia.
